Considering that the combined mpg figure for the L322 is, I think, in the region of 30mpg, the OBC says ~28mpg over 13k miles but real life at-the-pump measurement is, well, see the Fuelly figure below (best I've ever got was 27.1mpg on my first tankful), I reckon, given the tightness of your new engine then a figure closer to 30mpg could be expected. But a measured (not OBC'd) 37mpg? Not a chance! 2012 FFRR Westminster Orkney / Ivory and absolutely no pimp-glass! |

I'm generally getting between 32-33mpg and 3500 miles in. Maybe engine will loosen up more but don't think I'll see north of 35mpg even on a long cruise. |

Since a L405 is a long way off for me, my preference would be the Supercharged. There's claims of 740+bhp from that engine. In a 2200kg car that's going to embarrass most sports cars and even scare a few super cars. Also you won't look like a twonk like you would in a Bowler EXR.

200% agreed ! However, if they'd offer ot on V6, they'd certainly sell less V8... If you do drive both engines for a few hours/days back to back, you WILL choose the V8. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l Current RANGE ROVER Vogue 4.4L SDV8 - 2013 - Indus Silver, on Almond. RRUK - I've still got the 4.4 L322 so I did a little comparison yesterday.

But that's the point of the thread, RRUK did drive both for a few hours/days.

Yes, the V6 rolls around more on the road. Noticably. Compared to the V8 it's quite barge like. The one I tested nose dived badly under braking too. That and the screen put me off a bit to be honest, it's not as good as it could be. They've compromised the V6 to make sure the V8 is worth thousands more. |

Interestingly, there seems to be a consensus amongst the motoring journalists that the TDV6 is the nicer car to drive - Mike Cross (Chief Engineer at JLR) agrees. |

What I don't understand is why they put the 3.0TDV6 in the L405 yet are putting the 3.0 SDV6 in the Sport.

Presumably getting too close to the V8 - interesting to see what the SDV8 in the Sport makes given that the current 4.4 trails the Germans. |

Both the V6 and V8 L405 Vogue SE's have Adaptive Dynamics as standard, the V8 also has Dynamic Response which is what improves the ride. |
