I phone 5 bluetooth pairing

Hi all wonder if anyone could help

I have looked and couldnt find an exact answer to this so thought I would post
I have the kit from Bimmernav in my 04 RR which worked fine on my I phone 4 and paired up no issues. My i phone 4 got wet and died and cant be switched back on so i replaced it with an I phone 5. Now when i search for devices/connectivity on the I phone nothing comes up, think it used to say BMW ULF or something like that,

does anyone know how to connect or delete the old i phone so as i can connect my new i phone 5

thanks in advance

You can connect up to 4 phones I think to the ulf. You should not have to delete the old one for it to work.

I have kit from an x5 in mine, and ordered an iphone 5 last night, so it better work! 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

You can ask Wiggs - but I believe he is generally "the man" for 05> touch screen bluetooth.

If you got the kit from Bimmernav ($$$$ Shocked ) then you should have a13th gen ULF which is the latest avail and should work fine with the iPhone 5.

Silly question: you have pressed the pairing button in the RR? (though you should see the bt network in the RR regardless)
Have you tried another bt device (phone) to check if the ULF is still there and sending?

Tried connecting a mates iphone 5 to my 6th Gen ULF at lunch time, and it connects during the pairing procedure and then drops straight off.

Took the keys out, turned back on and the phone connected fine, loaded phone book and I made a call from it.

Await my iphone 5 now and trust it will do the same.......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yeah, I am still with a 4S and 8th gen - works fine too.
Not so excited about swapping to a 5+ because I have dock connectors all over the house for different things. Not that that has anything to do with the original topic...

Ok thanks for the help so far latest update. I consulted the original email from Bimmernav when i got the kit which said "To pair the phone press and hold the pairing button with the ignition off, whilst holding turn on ignition and let go after 3-5 seconds. This will activate pairing. Then for the phone search for devices then enter the passkey on the module. Once done turn off ignition and that phone will be stored. The last of 4 phones paired has priority (if all are in the car at the same time)

HOWEVER as i only had 1 I phone 4 paired previously which died and as i am the main user i decided to pair my wife's I phone 4 first (also as it had had a 4 paired to it before) then would pair up my 5. I pressed the pairing button in the armrest which ejected the plastic tracy that came with the kit did the above searched on the i phone 4 and nothing so repeated the process and tried on the 5 , still nothing. Does having the engine running make a difference ? I haven't got another vehicle with a kit on to check against to see if it is the phones but I doubt it as they are both nearly new. I have tried to post a pic of the button in the armrest but cant work out how to upload so sorry.

Could any of this have been "reset" when the RR when into main dealer for a service as it was plugged into diagnostic for a check?

please help!!!!

thanks

I am not convinced you are actually getting your ulf into pairing mode. All 3 led's near the top right of the screen are flashing........ bluetooth pairing shown on the dash.........

Don't even need ignition on , just pos 1 on the key........

You can put into pairing mode by shorting pins 32 and 36 on the connector or use Navcoder if you have that........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

no it isn't pairing as no lights on where they light up when it pairs tried it with just ignition on pos 1 again nothing tried it with the stereo button off and on again and nothing. Put bluetooth "on" and made a call from it thought it might pick up and give me a BMW ULF option on the I phone screen to connect but it didn't

dont fancy shorting wires as this is why i bought the kit as i just wanted a plug and play for safety watched the video on Bimmernav for installation which is just the same as this process will see if I can print off the manual tomorrow and se if there is anything else I have missed. Also when its dry I will check all the connections in the boot and make sure they are still on but dont think it's this

I have the full set from bimmernav as well, with the button,

You are pressing the correct button? for pairing - you say you press the button to release the plastic tray

that is not the pairing button Whistle

MMm. Have a good poke about, see if you can see another button.

If its any use, here is the ULF Owners Manual from BMW........
