Colour Coding Lower Plastic Trim

Has anyone had the lower plastic trim pieces colour coded on their L405 after market? I seem to remember there was one owner that said they intended to have it done on delivery and I was wondering how big a job it was. For some reason the black plastic trim looks scruffy to me on the L405 on dark coloured cars. It has never bothered me on my L322.

Here is what it looks like in white (nevermind the stance and wheels).

I think it looks better personally although I would be getting black or grey. What is likely to put me off though is the thought of handing a brand new car over to someone to paint bits and pieces for fear of them messing it up.

If you are as picky as me, you'd get all the parts off first, hand them the parts, with a parts-list, give them the paint code and make sure they find it before your eyes. Be very specific if you want the greined part smoothed or not. If you do, show them what smooth means, as some simply primer the part or sand them down a bit...

Then you will refit the parts yourselft or use a very dedicated / passionate specialist to do this part of the job, ordering fixings if need be.

Depending where you are located in the UK I would recommand Cam Tech LAnd Rover (Craig-cam-tech here) as Craig knows "a thing or two" about L405 already (and about Gallardo as a matter of fact...) and does a great job.

Other customers will confirm.

Thanks for the info.

I too am extremely picky which is why I probably will not have it done even though I like the look. If it was a factory option I would have it without question but I am not really into the after market scene. I would need a recommendation and see the evidence of it being done on another car before I would take the plunge.

I guess the lower parts of the body are rough black/grey plastic because it makes more sense for off road use but when so many cars will not be used for hard core off road use it would make sense to offer it as a factory option if not just to make more money. The new RRS seems to provide this as an option.

I have some done , had it done properly not cheap as parts all had to be removed , but not gone for as much colour coding as that one just lower skirts all the way round makes the car look finished and gets rid of the crap dark grey plastic at the sides and under the rear bumper mid-line. Far to many gone...

Can you post any pics?

How much did it cost and were you pleased with the result? Can you recommend the person who did it?

Question Hi there, not sure how painting the lower rear bumper area would affect the reverse oncoming traffic sensors if fitted!
