Land Rover Warranty

I'm considering buying a 2004/54 Range Rover (FF of course!) and wondered what the Approved Land Rover Warranty is like?

Indeed - that's the one. I have that info - thank you.

Was more looking for people's views on the warranty in real world circumstances (as opposed to on paper)!

I have had pretty good service through Hunters with a full approved used warranty. When I came to renew i took out the inch cape select warranty which mirrors the LR select warranty and is also provided by the same company, However I noted that the LR warranty has a claim limit of £3k and the Inchape doesnt.

When you think about it if anything big goes, engine, gearbox, diffs, you could easily rack up a bill that large at an MD, so really you pays your money and takes the risk.

Just because you are purchasing from an Approved garage doesnt always guarantee a good car, there are several stories, including mine where the car was prepared poorly with some remaining faults which took a while to rectify. But back to your original post, the warrnty provider did pay out well on the four or five times in the last year where i claimed.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for that. Have spoken with my 'local' Hunters/Inchcape garage and it sounds like a much better product to be honest...

We've had LR Approved and/or Select warranties on 3 cars in a row.. My experience is that it must be one of the best on the market.. Expensive but you get what you pay for and we feel assured the car has the LR warranty.

Main dealer pre sales prep is a separate matter. If they don't prep the car properly they might find difficulty getting the warranty provider to near future make good on their shortcomings; and that could leave the buyer with a challenge..

Prospective customers should get their own prep right before completing (ie know what issues to be alert to & seek pre sale assurances that they will be dealt with).

^^ this is sage advice.

I was a new is looking to get my first ff and missed a few of the faults on mine. I understand from a different dealer to the one whi supplied my car that faults which crop up in the first 30 days are supposed to be rectified by the dealer. They have after all bought the car in either in px or from an auction or other dealer. So should have adjusted their price accordingly
If there were known faults.

In my case there was a broken heater part, and some corrosion. I was fobbed off by the md i bought it from for just over a month part out of stock etc, i checked with my local MD and it wasnt on back order as they claimed, in the end i went in gave them the keys got a courtesy car and left it with them, call me when its done.... But the chappie i was dealing with wasnt there, i had arranged it all with him, and no one was expecting me. Shambolic to say the least.

Managed to get a courtest car, and it took them a week to fix it. Hey ho you live and learn.

I think they pushed it back so they could make a warranty claim on the broken parts. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just renewed my LR select warranty online £850 or ten monthly payments at £85.00.

Quick and easy I chose the ten monthly option with no interest to pay.

Only had to use it once for the MOT. Top rear suspension ball joints.

Not cheap but it is a good warranty and if they say something is not covered but your car has been in the MD network due to your good faith during your ownership they [your chosen MD] will sometimes cover the remaining cost under 'good willl'. I wouldn't buy any other warranty for a LR.
