Autoglym Lifeshine

Having just had a Lifeshine put on my RR I just thought I would drop a post saying how impressed I am with the results. It really has given the black paintwork a new lease of life.

Has anyone else have any experience good or bad with Lifeshine?

On reading your post I thought this was something to buy in a bottle on the retail park Laughing

On reading the internet I presume you are talking about this?

" Autoglym Lifeshine interior and exterior protection for cars is available for £240 inc. VAT to 70% of the UK population. The treatment is applied by a fully trained mobile staff member outside your front door or at one of our Leamington Spa and London Park Royal centres. With each treatment we offer a professional aftercare kit and lifetime warranty. "

I always look after my own cars but recently toyed with getting a 'detailer' via DW UK to assist with some parts of the car I'd like to come up better.

The only similar experience I've had is when my mother has bought new BMW in the past and she paid them to put some so called protective coating on the car and interior but imo that - whatever it was - was a waste of money and did little to nothing.

I suppose the key will be whether or not lifeshine proves it is durable?

All assuming I'm on the right product Rolling with laughter

A mate of mine is a salesman at an Audi dealership, and let me have a few kits containing whats left after they have done the cars, so I had more than enough to do a single car.

I did my cousins 6 month old VW Touareg and it was easy enough to put on, following the instructions on the bottles.

Did interior and exterior.

It still looks good today, about 12 months on.

Didn't put any on my RR as I didn't want to get sealing something in, any marks etc, that I later wished to remove...........

Don't know how it fares longer term........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

you are on about the right product yes - sorry should of maybe made my post a bit more detailed Thumbs Up

Its right about not wanting to seal things in - because my RR is 5 years old they had to do a cut and claybar of the car before applying the product. I know what you mean about OEM products - I often think because its included in the price you don't get the end result that you should - not that I have bought many brand new cars - maybe only 2 Smile

I have a funny feeling this is what I would like done to have done to Rodney and the Boss's Focus ST as the paint work on that is in really nice condition for a 60 plate car , but there are a few chips on the paintwork of Rodney and for a car of nearly 6 years old is to be expected .

So am I right in thinking if I got this done getting any chips sorted out after would be a problem ?

I don't know whether there would "technically" be a problem, but any paintwork they do new will not be sealed, and if they have to strip any back etc, you will not know how far they have gone, so you could end up with some areas protected and some not.

I'd get all the painting done first if I were you.

Just my 2p worth. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thanks , sounds like good advice and its nothing major just a few chips here and there , just wanted some sort of protection on the paintwork as I would like to think in general and after work done so far the paintwork is in good condition but I don't profess to know whether I am right or not.
