Scratched Window Pillars/ Trim

Was looking for tips on how to remove scratches from the black window trim/pillars on the RR which for me, can detract from the smart looks of the car.

As good as it gets!

Had a go at the black window pillars as follows (paint was not broken/ any scratches were more like bramble type scuffs/ linear scratches):

Farecla G3 scratch remover (machine polished on with heavy duty rotary polisher)
Autoglym Super Resin polish (machine polished as above).

The result is that the scratches tone down but don't completely go.

The trim comes up shiny gloss black and looks very smart/ much better than 'the standard look' (they previously looked almost matt black to me).

Glad you included a close up! I was thinking how nice your mono-blocking was! Rolling with laughter

I'm rather liking the glossy finish! Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Very droll.. not into photography at all... picture one though does kind of show the real sort of matt look compared to the glossier look on picture two... and then close up on picture three shows almost what BMW/ Audi (whichever one it is) calls 'shadowline finish' or something like that!

Wink

The scratches I'm on about probably wouldn't bother most people/ I'm talking about standing up close and looking for the odd mark to now be able to see them. The overall condition of these trims is very good and they don't need to be replaced or I'd do it.

There is one 5p piece size blister mark halfway up the black drivers door pillar but the finish isn't broken and I don't think it will actually deteriorate.

The trims do suit the shiny look!
