Go to a local scrapyard, dig about in the back of a 3 series BMW (2000 to 2005 ish), behind the panel on the left hand side of the boot and you'll find the cable with the 6 pin and 3 pin connectors. A pair of pliers and a couple of quid to the owner and you'll have what you need. Ten minutes to repin and Robert is married to your Aunt.

Hi

could anyone help me to know the correct order of the 3 and the 6 pin connectors?

i want to move the cables from the 10 pin OEM Cd changer connector to the 3 and the 6 pin connectors and then connect Grom Audio unit.

So

Based on the image i have attached above

what is the correct order:

The 3 pin connector , is it A or B?

The 6 pin connecter , i have marked each hole with a Letter from A to F , so could you connect each letter with a number from 1 to 6 , to identify its correct order.

Thank you in advanced for any given help.[/img]

From memory I think that if you look closely there are numbers on the connectors beside the holes you put the pins into. But I may be wrong.

Dear Chris

Regarding the 6 pin connector , You are right the 6 small holes are numbered , but because i am not sure of the connector i received is the correct one and if the holes order the required order , i was looking for a another confirmation as i do not want to damage the Grom unit.

Regarding the 3 pin connector there is no numbers at all which is confusing me because i do not where to start.

A = from left to Right
B= from right to left

below is the BMW cable i received , and i hope this could help

Ok - I've had a look at mine and for the 3 pin plug the terminals go 1 2 3 in the direction of your red graphic - A.
Good luck!

And on your 6 pin diagram the numbers and your letters correspond as:
A-1
B-2
C-3
D-4
E-5
F-6

Again - hope all goes ok!

Thank you so much Chris for your kindness and for your great help.

i will move the required cables from 10 pin plug to 3&6 pin plugs and then connect the Grom audio unit and update you with the result ASAP.

Hi Alahmas .. Hope you are fine & doing well .. I'm wondering if you already installed the Grom adapter and it is functional properly ?? As I'm willing to use mini ipad rather than the outdated RR head unite .. Thx in advance & Best regards

Yes Sami. Its working perfectly .... ( USB stick as a Virtual 6 CDs , and also the Bluetooth music streaming)

you still need the none-touch head unit to control the Grom unit
