You're reawakening my Porsche desires sufficiently, old chap. But I need the funds for some late 60's /early 70's American muscle.

So, what are the mystery viewings then? Si. <This is my name.

Next time I buy another car I'll start a thread with: -

1) I have a yearning to buy an unspecified type of car.

2) I have an unspecified amount of money.

Discuss....

Bets now on how many pages the thread will go on for and how many cars will be suggested.

I tried the chalk & cheese approach and bought a Caterham.

It was, however, either too chalky or too cheesy - still not sure which !

Sold it for more than I bought it for and it's now for sale in Austria for twice as much as I was paid Shocked

I'm now looking a Nova SR (my first car) . . . . Laughing

Thumbs Up

(I reckon the first 944 looked best ! Whistle ) Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

If anyone can upload an encyclopedia of all cars manufactured worldwide, say 1900 - 2013, it may save us some time. It's a great thread, though!

This is great!

I do still really like the white 944 S2 which was the car that started this whole thing off! There'd be some sort of loop closed if that turned out to be the one I bought!

Si - I'm looking at the dark blue 944 S2 that Contraband shared a link for about 300 posts ago - it's very local to me - immaculate history and owned by a chap that's had about 16 old Porkers in his time - nice example and he's forgotten more about 944s and 968s than I'll ever know, so that's one option.

The other is a black XK8 on eBay (Gaz will be pleased). It's up in the Wirral so would be buying it blind, but spent about an hour on the phone with the vendor last night and got a good gut feel from him and he answered all my questions satisfactorily.

Very different cars, but both would scratch my itch, albeit in different ways.

And, in all seriousness, my uncle lives in Llangollen - so he may pop in and see the white S2 pictured at the start of this whole thread - if it's still available that's a possible third option.

We'll see. Feel like I'm getting close though! Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Right, that's it chaps - he still likes the white Porker.

Suggest we have a whip round & buy it for the poor Censored before he implodes ?

We could always start a classic car club, swapping cars on a regular basis....

Some people are real chancers.

When I went to look at the grey 968 (with the oil leak that drove like a snail) the dealer told me at the time that he'd had an enquiry from a chap in Dubai, but he didn't know how serious he was.

Anyway - seems this Duabi based bloke has seen fit to buy the car (which was up for £4,450) and readvertise it 2 days later for £8,000!!

Cheeky git! Shocked

Offer 4,451 for it. He may realize that you know what the prize was. Then look for another car because this guy won't sell for that low. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I don't want it, having driven it.

I guess I just feel sorry for whoever buys it if they pay close to what he's asking for it now.

I turned it down at £4,450 - be interesting to see how long he has it with an asking price of £8k! Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Advertising it is one thing.

Selling it is another.
