Am seeing it tomorrow... Whistle

In other news - how much of an issue do we think no service history is? If it means the car is super cheap? And you have all of the old MOTs dating back to 2005 which verify the mileage is accurate? Given that the first MOT wouldn't have been due until 2001 on this car.

He won't budge on price - well - he'd budge to £4,200. Love the colour...has new discs and pads, tax, MOT'd....he owns a bodyshop and it had a dink in the bonnet and front bumper, so they've been professionally repaired and resprayed in the last week or so - as such no stone chips on the front of the car at all.

£4,200 for an XKR!! Tempting...seriously tempting!!

Without any history Gaz? Part of me says don't touch it with a barge pole - but online checks show the mileage checks out - so the other part of me says that's why it's so cheap and I should snap it up...

Ha!

Just spent the money on a full HPI check. The mileage might be genuine, but the car is Cat C.

Listed as - C - Vehicle extensively damaged but repairable - the insurer decided not to repair.

Sad

So that'll be the 'dink in the front bonnet and bumper' he talked about then!

Back to hoping the 968 is a good one tomorrow then! Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Must be my age. I was 15 when the 968 was released and spent many hours drooling over them through the windows of Porsche dealers....

I know they're not to everyone's taste (the Jag is unquestionably more beautiful) but there's some weird retro appeal to them that talks to me!

And I think if I do a Jag, I'd want to hang on for an XKR...I've seen a few ads for (now sold) cars that would've been close enough to budget to make it doable, so I could just play the waiting game.

(A game I've never been very good at).

that's fair enough, go with your gut once you've seen them both!

Jag gets my vote, but in all truth you're in a buying frenzy and that's the worst time to buy a car. Cool off a bit and think what you really want and then hold off for the right deal and the right car.

Just my take, although I've made my fair share of impulse buying, see my link below.
