New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

The wheeler dealer 928, I can remember seeing it but a long time ago. So I'll be YouTubing tonight Smile

I have been in love with the 928 since it first came out and it has never completely gone away.

Another car I would like (and almost bought in NZ just before we decided to leave) is a Nissan 300ZX, targa, turbo. They also seem good value still ! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Try streetfire for wheeler dealers - almost all are on there.

Top Gear series 13 episode 5 for the 944 and Nissan 300ZX. Again, streetfire is your friend!

Ha haa - Si - I knew you'd have to say something when the E55 got a mention! Wink

I didn't say it wasn't a GT or sports car, I said it wasn't the GT or sports car that I'm looking for. Thumbs Up

With regards the IMC / KPP stuff, I'm cool with all that. The one thing I really couldn't give a flying toss about when making this purchase is image, or what other people think. It's purely a toy for me. (Plus I'm comfortable that I've got a hot wife and a big d*ck, so have nothing to prove to anyone)! This is something for me to get my hands dirty on and drive on sunny days (when it's working!)...simple as that. It's certainly not something I'm going to think I look 'cool' in or try to pick up chicks in! Rolling with laughter

So I've got an offer out on a 928 S4. At my budget, they all seem to be autos. I can't pretend to know the first thing about the model range really - other than what I've gleaned from Wikipedia and a few specialist sites - but from what I can gather the auto 'box is from Merc and seems to be pretty bullet proof.

Also waiting to hear back about a 944 Turbo.

Might go and see an SL500 over the weekend too - although I think I want a Porker - unless an XKR turns up at the right money.

We'll see I guess. Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Joe, I agree with you. Laughing

I'll say it again. Capri. A real CFM car if there ever was one! Mr. Green

But I still think, and agree, that a Porsche will do it for you.

Oh, hang on! What about a replica MK1 Escort RS?

How about a Renault A610 ? Fast, (very) quirky.
Or, if you really wanted oddball, a Volvo 850 T5-R. In yellow. My plan was idiot-proof ...

Until someone designed a better idiot

What do we think about this?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140991149157?ssP...1438.l2649

Just spoken to the guy. It's not perfect (look at what you'll pay for a perfect one though)!

Has no official service history to speak of - save for an invoice from Dick Lovett who did a service and cambelt at 122k (14k ago) - plus 5 old MOTs and all the invoices for the stuff this guy has done to it

Probably needs the wheels refurbed (I have a good mate who does that for a living, so no worries there)

Air con doesn't work - he's not ever even tried regassing it, so could be a simple fix - could be more complex (leak? new compressor?)

Drivers door mirror isn't working

Heated seats not working

Headlight adjustment doesn't work (common issue)

Mechanically he thinks it's perfect though, drives perfectly, starts first time every time etc etc.

I'm more than happy to tinker with a few electrical gremlins and cosmetic issues if the mechanics are sound.

Or am I trying to talk myself into it?! He'll take an offer I reckon too, so it's a whole heap of car for the money.... Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Yes, you sound like you've already bought it. Laughing

It stacks up and is tempting at that money. So go and have a look, BUT do your homework beforehand! Find out from a forum or specialist how one should drive so you've some form of marker. And try to establish what bills you might be facing.
Drive it away if OK.

If you fix the faults, then it may well rise in value.

Go on then...... Thumbs Up Si. <This is my name.

IMO... If someone loves a car and a bit breaks, you fix it.
If he says he has not even tried a regassing then to me that says he has not looked after it as it should.. Or more likely, he has tried a regassing, it did not work and he knows it is something he can't afford to fix.....
I think working aircon is a telltale sign and something I always look for.. Thumbs Up Previously..

If the AC hasn't been used for a long time be warned, the pumps are likely not cheap to buy nor fit! Also as i have found in the past, if its been run dry for long enough it could lock up and take whatever belt its on out as well...

If your buying as a project needing work then it could be great, if you want a little bit of work however it may not be! i was serious about the damage to the 3200 being about £1k or under to put right Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
