The big issue with 275/45R21 tyres (other than the lack of sidewall) is that there aren't any available which are remotely suitable for off-road use. You're stuck with the Goodyears which are clearly going to be of limited use anywhere near a field. Good thinking Land Rover!

I'm plus 1 on the go for the smallest possible with the biggest sidewall. The 20 tyres on my car survived our outing on the Plain, just. It isn't the rim that is the real problem, if you go off-roading you will scratch them whatever the size, but the sidewalls that are the most vulnerable. A lower profile tyre with any additional load, think ruts with a side slope, results in a very vulnerable sidewall. My L322 S/C on 20's wrecked three tyres on a single day with chunks out of the sidewall, the L322 on 19's had a couple of smaller marks and cuts after almost exactly the same route.

Yes, the 20"s are a higher profile than before. 19" wheels would seem to be the way forward. |

We discussed the relative wheel size for the L405 off-road on our Salisbury Plain trip, or at least Craig and I did. I thought it might be good to get hold of some 19" wheels from the USA cars but the clearance between those big calipers on the front is already very tight and we wondered how much damage could be done getting stones and flints stuck in-between rim and caliper. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

The 19" Style 1 wheels are available as an option over here, but they're expensive in comparison to the usual price of take-offs from new cars.

Whilst the offset on the 2011 wheels might be solved I just wonder if it is spoke deign and caliper clearance that would thwart that idea. Need someone with L405 and someone with a style 15 to try that out. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Front discs on both are 380mm - are the calipers different? |

Think that L405 has 8 pot non-Brembo calipers and L322 6-pot. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Pretty certain they're 6-piston and Brembo (albeit not branded as such). |
