United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver
A Sport Loan Car and a New Sport Spotted

I've just dropped my S/C off at the main dealer in Cardiff to have some faults fixed under warranty. I preferred to drive there and speak to them in person rather than have someone collect.

First surprise was the loan car they've given me. A new (3,000 mile) 3.0 SDV6 Sport HSE.

After 130 miles driving home, it's not a patch on my S/C. The engine note isn't there and it's not that involving. Admittedly, it handles far tighter but there's no sense of theatre or urge of acceleration. The interior isn't as nice, but the quality is better than I expected. The 8-speed gearbox was lovely and smooth. Still, it's soon to be replaced.

And that was the next surprise. Pulling into the M4 services near J17, we saw this...

I can only assume it's a very late pre-release model as it was covered in road grime. But, compared to the Sport I was driving, looks much better. Much better, in fact, in the metal than the pictures suggest.

My son took a few more pictures. I rather like the interior colours in this one. Excuse the quality, but he's 10.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.
