+1 for the Fiat 500.

My other half has one and it is great fun to drive, has an interesting and fun interior and is very comfortable too. Tom

Wonder what the insurance is on those these days. So cheap & simple ...

Though I guess the underwriters are bothered on what a new driver can drive in to Laughing

Bentley , Porsche , Full Fat !? Big Cry

ugh no its still hideous; temporary insurance the only sensible way to go atm

At 17 is 'classic car' cover an option, on something like an old style Mini ? or do you need to be over a certain age.

usually have to be a certain age, as people were using it as a loophole

I know a teenager (who shall remain nameless) who got a supercharged FFRR for her 18th Shocked
also know twins who got 2x 135i convertibles

How the hell do they even get insurance?!

She has a 1.2 petrol and It'll do 70 no probs. To be honest, its reasonably comfortable.
The diesel ones don't seem to hold much more value in the second hand market.
I would guess the petrol ones are a couple of insurance groups down though.
1.2 petrol is £30 per year tax and you can only squeeze in about £40-45 per fill up Very Happy
I wouldn't bother re-fuelling the full fat if I only thought i was going to fit £40 of fuel in Laughing

They're still in the 'cool car' bracket amongst younger motorists male and female.

When she replaces hers, i'm going to talk her into an Abarth one Thumbs Up
Had it, loved it!

Capri is an anagram of crapi. Coincidence?

A mate of mine had a 1.2 stop start 500 for commuting down the M1 to London. It was cheap to tax, but you had to rev the nuts off it to get it to go, then the economy suffered. He considered it gutless, and wish he'd got the diesel.
The Twinair, however is a superior engine - but if you enjoy yourself in it, again the economy suffers.
The diesel does the same no matter how you drive it !

As for you , Kurt, wash your mouth out ! Dissing the Capri is a hanging offence over here. Check this one out:

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Great fun it may have been, but with the possible exception of that 3.0 it was crapi.

/bus trek over

PS - even for a nice one with the correct engine - £27k? Nats.
