The only little noise I have sometimes is after starting the car, there's a little bump coming from inside the trunk, comes and goes once, that's it!

By the way, when you lower or lift the car do you get an "air" noise from around the backseats air control unit as well?

I have this noise also, it is a "clunk" always 5-6 seconds after starting the engine from a longer standstill. Don't get it in Start/Stop restarts.

And yes when the car lifts itself up, I have a hissing from the rear seat area. You can hear it also when the engine if off and you ask the car to lower itself (ignition on).

Here is the list;

Moonroof rattles
Soft close tempremental on passenger door, drivers side
Front passenger seat bolsters don't work at all
Sloshing from the fuel tank when above half full, clearly audible
"Thud" when starting engine, from rear
Brakes squeaking on light pressure
Clicking from electronics bay in drivers side boot area (where rear fuses are) when systems are being started/stopped (audible when engine off)
Bit of a vibration between 1200 and 1700 revs under heavy load, slowly getting better as miles are added
Hissing from compressor/system when air suspension active

It is going back next Thursday.

Please let me know what they say about the "clunk" from the trunk. Might be normal, also the "hissing" from the rear seat area.
Have one rear door that sometimes doesn't soft close as well and the squeaking from the brakes on light pressure. That's about it.
Guess the "sloshing" from the fuel tank is only for the 3.0.

Car went in early after the rear view mirror fell off on Sunday.

The "clunk" is normal - caused by Air Compressor. SSM 64937

With the fuel sloshing noise - every L405 in the dealer does it, dealer agrees it's not good enough so at least that is a start.
Currently waiting on the rest.

Have been given a blinged up L405 (the demonstrator) for a week.

Air suspension 'hiss' / air noise is also "normal" - as apparently they have placed the valve under the passenger seats.

The lead technician at Guy Salmon seemed to think fixes for both are on the way as lots of feedback has been filed to LR on both issues. I suspect noise insulation on both needed.

I was also told he checked the rear passenger side body panel from the inside (the one that flares out and then back in to form the "boat tail" rear.

If you remove (or get the dealer to) the boot/trunk carpet clad panel on passenger side(the one with large, long vent and 12v socket) you will see a void where the bodywork flares out over the rear wheels. This should have foam noise insulation present so you cant place your hand in the void towards the front of the car.

Mine and some others are missing this insulation. the symptoms are simply more noise into the cabin from rear seat area.

You're right, it was a bit of a wind up comment. No malice intended.

Seriously though, has anyone with a L405 been able to try their FBH yet? Is it switched on for more than the inadequate 17mins that the MY11 onwards operate for? My MY07 used be on for 30mins and was very toasty as a result, but then often it wouldn't start. Some of the compromises of a RR owner Wink MY23 D350 HSE

Can't tell you, dont have it on mine.

So far I had no problems besides the lower tailgate... that has been fixed and works perfectly now. Mind you only have 5000KM done with it but keeping my finger crossed Laughing

My FBH was very effective in March and as a bonus you can also include the front and rear heated screens in the programme. Because it worked well I didn't take any notice of the time it was on for. Remind me when it freezes in August in UK this year. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Including the front and rear heated screens with FBH is impressive. Hope it still starts once the battery is a year old! Or have LR finally implemented a dual battery system on the L405 ensuring one is always charged for starting? MY23 D350 HSE
