TD6 In Tank Fuel Pump Assembly

Has anyone ever removed one at all?

Im guessing it partly comes apart in the tank or there is another ring off the access hole that allows the pump assembly to be removed as i can not get mine out at all and im sure the balance pump has gone again 1/3 tank of fuel and nothing coming up Sad Im wondering if this was really the cause of all my issues tbh...

Knowing my luck probably not! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I though there were two largish circular access holes on top of the tank? The holes on the SC tank certainly look bigger than the ones below....

Is this your tank?

Cheers Gaz Smile

The tanks are all about the same design with just the actual pump internals being different as the diesel one needs to cope with the thicker fuel in cold climates.

The problem is with the access covers removed and the rings unscrewed the lock ring holding it down the unit pops up a little but when trying to slip it out something seems tone catching and too big for the hole which is making me think that the balancer pump part comes out separately :/ will have to read rave tonight and see if its mentioned but I think I've looked before and drawn a blank but maybe the new version that Joe90 found will shed some light on it Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Ps the top one is my tank.

It's still fitted to the car but I'm sure it can be removed without dropping the tank. I've even thought about buying that one from Hills so I can work on one off the car ( anyone know of a really cheap one coming off a breaker as I can't imagine many sell on the second hand market??!! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

It's really annoying Gaz Sad could you your Indys details and I might give them a rig and ask if they would advise on it at all as the local one up here wouldn't tell me Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Cheers Gaz!

Turns out the balancing pipe work pops off to allow it to come out. Guess when I get home tonight if its still light ill give it a go if not Sunday as ill strip it down as worst case scenario is a new unit and best case is its clogged with crud from the bad bio batch or crud in the tank in general Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Good thing is the tank is not steel so no corrosion issues. My dad used to treat his old tank with epoxy (after cleaning them thoroughly) to keep crap out of his fuel. His biggest issue with his Rover 2600 Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Well if i get a chance later today i'll be giving it a whirl.

Last night was a write off as driving home from Solihull i got a pounding headache so just collapsed in bed.

The new RRS was a bit nicer at JLR though but the battery was dead within about 5 minutes so still some bugs to iron out i guess.

Also noticed the battery jump post has made an appearance in the SC version and on the drivers side!!

Found out manual 6+7 seats could be available in other markets so asked if they would do it in the UK as well.

Underbody protection is MASSIVELY improved, steel plates as standard on the SC i saw should make it very good for offroad from standard Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well I've got it all out, cleaned some of it up and cleaned the filter part out (pics to follow) and the motor tests ok! Which is really really annoying!

Ill clean the lines out but there are 2 filters, one on each of the pickups that's a plastic mesh to get the big gunk, then the medium metal one on the bottom of the motor, then the normal fuel filter in the engine bay so lets see what I can do tomorrow night Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
