Woolwich murder Drummer Lee Rigby

What's happening to this country and the very small minority that are bringing it to its knees?

Our lads are fighting for a cause I'm not sure I understand now and no political situation can be blamed for the actions of two sick people who have done what the did today.

My thoughts are with his family and with our serving soldiers who continue to do us proud. 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze

What gets me is the video of one of the attackers expressing sorry to those people that witnessed the horror. But then went on to explain that his countrymen witness this everyday back in the home country - he says all this in a thick London accent!!!!! Un-bloody-believe able.

Absolutely shocking events! And my thoughts are with the victims family.

^^ That would require us leaving the EU first. One more reason to add to the list.

A truly horrific and pointless act of terrorism. Thoughts with all affected.

Moving tribute from another soldier Crying or Very sad

Quote:
Just out for a walk after an early stack
Not looking for trouble not watching my back
Mothers with prams holding hands with their kids
Not paying attention to the car as it skids
Caught completely off guard not expecting what comes
One man with a knife another with guns.
No chance of defence no chance to fight back
Looking for help as the cowards attack
An angel arrives as the light turns to grey
A woman attempts to steer attackers away
My last thought of ‘Thank You’ never strays from my brain
As my body shuts down and I feel no more pain.

I look to my left and I look to my right
Thousands of squaddies are all that’s in sight
Uniforms are crisp and their faces are clean
No sign of anger or hate to be seen
As if by command they salute all as one
The RSM smiles, says ‘Welcome home son’.

I have an eleven year old son and my policy with him is if he asks me a question about anything - I will give him an answer - I don't believe in hiding the real world from children. This, however, has left me utterly stumped. How on earth do I explain this to him ?

The first news I saw of this was on ITV at 10pm last night when the 'phone footage - virtually in it's entirety - was being aired. With a motionless murder victim shown in the background like a dog that had been run over.

There was no respect shown whatsoever.

I was a police officer for nearly twenty four years - I'm not squeamish by any means - but I found it deeply distressing. Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

I can remember the killing of 2 soldiers in NI who accidentally strayed into a republican funeral. I can clearly remember seeing them being dragged out of their car all being filmed and shown on the BBC. It still angers me today even though I was around 15 at the time. I guess it was because it was so graphic and personal much like this killing.

I agree guys, I have active servicemen in he family, my father served in the RAF, my grandfather died in action in WWII but this is on a different level.

Why can't a young lad or anyone walk the streets and feel free from crime of the sort carried out by "beings" not people, not animals but beings that should be strung up by their balls and set on fire. I'm sick of all this talk about Arabic wars and cutting off heads and an eye do an eye.

This is Britain so respect our rules and leave us alone. The Muslem leaders need to take the lead here and demonstrate that they don't approve of this stuff. The problem is that it isn't PC to stand up to our values and go with the British way anymore. The reason many of this culture hate us is that the British culture doesn't stand for much these days. Most of the white people are dogs bodies and simply watch the rug being taken from their feet.

I wasn't there so I can't comment on why they all filmed it on their phones but maybe we have a culture of cowards and voyeurs? Most of the people in this country are good and hard working.

This lad, for whom I feel proud and whose life I know nothing about has served for this country. In his memory and in the name of those who have died of late we dont need riots we dont need anger, but instead we need to stand strong and united.

Violence and delusion of this type can only be counteracted with unity, strength, courage and love. 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze

My two peneth worth for what its worth, i think they should re-instate national service and get some self respect back into this country of ours... Teach the mobile phone filming, rioting, trouble making youth with or without jobs in this, our beloved Britain some self discipline and respect for their fellow man...

We may become a harder target to these cowardly extremists then!

That's what the t shirt stood for Help For HERO'S...

The savages that carried this attack out are missing the point entirely.

I come from a military family and have many uncles, cousins etc all still in active service.

One of my uncles, a major, summed up war so succinctly for me once. He said "We don't kill because we hate what's in front of us. We do it because we love what's behind us". Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

That is one of the best statements of why a country goes to war that I have heard.

Like everyone else I am shocked and saddened by this event. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."
