I am planning a trip which will involve 3 dogs (two large and one small) and three passengers plus luggage for a two week period.

With me so far?

I have a large roofbox that I have used in the past plus loads of Thule bars of varying length. So now I want a Thule foot solution for L405 (panoramic or otherwise). Not listed anywhere.

Anyone aware of a roof bar solution? I really do not want roof rails on my car which seems to be the LR solution, especially as it would only be for a two week period? 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Isn't it forbidden in the UK to transport dogs in a roofbox?

We call the roofbox the MiL transport solution

But all (good) jokes aside. Without know the exact shape of the roof around the doors, there is a type that I used for my old Alfa Romeo 164. The soft plastic pad rests on the roof, close to the edge. Then a "hook" made of flat strip (with some stiffening ridges) hooks around the roof edge "inside" the door frames. I remember two bolts to secure the hook to the roofbar.

I think they were Thule and more or less generic for that (then quite new) roof line. See of something like that would work maybe.

I also vaguely remember seeing suction pad based roof "racks" for snowboards and skis but no idea if they A would work on the L405 and B are strong enough for the roofbox windforces.

I do have a high speed trailer for you, it is the rear half of a pilgrim cobra might be your solution.
