Many thanks Jpickie, you've answered my question and more besides. Must get a price when my FFRR is in for a service next week. |

I thought that would be your response when reading the instructions Baron, let us know what the dealer charges for supply and fitting. Your reply will be my decider on whether its to be stepping in gracefully or climbing in and sliding out like a beached whale. |

My guess is around £2,300 for supply and fit based on 2hrs labour at £100/hr but I'll let you know what they quote. I'll be asking Peter Vardy (was Town & County) in Aberdeen. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11 |

Sounds like you got a bargain there. I too like to have a sill level accent, particularly on darker coloured cars. I think it adds a pleasing colour contrast.

Baron, I was in Peter Vardy's (ex T & C) yesterday getting the first service done and asked for a quote for the supply and fitting of Deployable side steps. The girl serving me gave me a quote of £2170.63 and insisted that included VAT, although I'm not convinced judging my their prices for everything else.

Yes, I think she forgot to add on the VAT as I've been quoted somewhere around £2,500, I forget exactly. Car goes in for its mini-makeover on the 24th; deployables, detachable tow bar and a list of minor warranty issues, although one less now I've managed to pair the heater remote to the car 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11 |

Well Jpickie, you have learned more than I have about the button in the roof! How does it turn the system off? I find it usually does nothing! |

To reset you simply lock the car or drive away |

Baron hi, fitting deployable steps is very straight forward and if you like fiddling? Its worth doing yourself as you can lubricate the parts as you assemble them (won't be done by a dealer) you will also have some understanding of how they work, if something should go wrong or get damaged in the future I have them on mine and the kids/mother in law loves them (as do passers by/onlookers) I fitted mine with Overfinch side skirts (as these fit inside the skirt and disappear) which was the perfect package IMHO

Hobbyist, This is how my system operates as best as i have worked out over the past three years. To turn the system on and off as you are asking to do is covered in the second paragraph.

I had fixed steps on the 4.2 and they are handy for my daughters and wife (all of them quite short, although the youngest will probably become my height ish 1.8 plus (I'm 1.89)).
