Not a bad job. I changed mine when I thought it was faulty (turned out to be ignition switch)

Just happens that the original one is looking for a new home now Whistle

Big Cry Oh well, if anyone else wants one ....

Andy, If I remember correctly - take the cover off at the back of the engine (the big one than covers the heater inlet - only held on by two nuts) It makes the job much much easier Thumbs Up

I think I changed mine from the top, don't recall having to crawl under Wink

Not too difficult. I have a new one in mine (the old one was toast for the record).

The more worrying thing is that it gave me no notice of its intent to melt into a solid lump of goo. No slow cranking or any other signs. Worked fine until the day it didn't. Thankfully I had just got back from a 2,500km trip in the middle of nowhere. It would have been an expensive recovery as we were 200km up a 4wd track just days before....

To take the Panel filter housing out its best to disconnect or loosen the bolt that servers as the '+' jump point IME Smile

When you take it out take the filter out and give it a dam good clean as well as the rubbers on the firewall as they get real grubby and you'll be the first person on the car to have cleaned them i bet!
Then treat the rubbers with Gumi phlege stuff Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
