It's a huge problem and especially in the Matlock area too for some reason.

This is what Landywatch was set up for.

Here in the Hope Valley in The Derbyshire Dales we've just had 2 stripped of all their doors and bonnets.
Doesn't help that our fabulous local council have decided to switch most of the street lights off after midnight, apparently burglars don't like being out in the dark !!! Banished back to RRS for the moment !!!

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

The demand for the parts is high and you can only imagine how much a container full of doors and bonnets is worth when shipped abroad or a van filled with the bits and taken to eastern europe or russia...

I wonder if the new defender will actually have a security increase to a decent level when launched next year?

Have deadlocks not been fitted to defenders for a few years now that would prevent this type of theft or is it a case that they can still easily be opened from the inside? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

My understanding from the local Bobby is that they just unbolt from the outside and the alarm is linked in to a part of the car readily accessable and if the wire to that is cut the alarm is disabled, not sure if either is true.
Apart from those 2 thefts we seem to be doing OK at the moment, only other car that went missing was a yellow Derbyshire Dales Council Defender which was found months later resprayed in Barnsley. Banished back to RRS for the moment !!!
