Although that would certainly sort the problem once and for all.....Very very difficult removing scartches ,yes you can improve things but if they are in your line of vision you will always think you can still see them. If you have windscreen insurance cover ....well |

dont think you can..i brought a car recently and it had scratches in an arc where the wiper wipes and on the drivers side..you could feel the indentations with your finger nail..i had the screen replaced on the insurance and paid the excess £75 .. ... - .- -.

Thanks... didn't know scratches can cause an MOT fail... you can't feel these with a fingernail though/ they are wiper arc scratches... |

Replacing a heated windscreen must have cost your insurance a pretty penny. Given the more complex nature of a heated windscreen is replacement something that can be tackled by your Autoglass type business or does it need to go back to a franchised dealer? I too have significant wiper scratches on my windscreen and am wondering if it would be covered under warranty. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11 |

Mine has the acoustic glass with the heated elements and was replaced by Autoglass |

Our screen has obv been replaced as it hasn't got the LR stamp so might have been an insurance claim and one of their approved repairers such as AG...

If you have a rotary polisher it can be done. You need thin felt or rayon pads and some cerium oxide compound. Oh, and LOTS of elbow grease.

I think unless you could show that a faulty wiper part caused scratches beyond your control you might struggle to make a warranty claim... a standard insurance windscreen claim maybe...
