Key update

I was wondering what the latest thinking is about keys. I have read previous threads having just lost my key and I am now relying on the spare. I am hopeful that there may be progress since last postings.

I can see a few options.

1. Buy the uncut £30 offering on eBay and get it cut.

2. Buy one for £140 from the dealer ready cut.

In both cases, I then need to get the electronics programmed from my beloved and much treasured spare below. The dealer has kindly offered to programme it for another £60.

Guidance would e much appreciated.

Thanks Stan. I had seen the Wiki but my problem is slightly different.

1. I just need to buy a new key, the same as my spare shown in the picture and wondered if the cheaper ebay blanks were viable.

2. Is there a clever way of programming the new key, using my spare which works fine, without spending £60. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

Hi
don't blank keys from ebay come without electronics inside, being simple key "case", rather than complete key? l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

hi, if you only have the one key then your options are limited, you can smarten up your original key with a new case, swap the electrics and chip over and get it cut by timpsons and away you go..if you are looking for a new key then you will need to ether go to the main dealer and that will cost you 200 plus for a new key or i am waiting for my new programer that will programe the early style keys,
i will be ordering some more flip style keys that work with the old style key if you want to replace it. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

2008 TDV8. I lost a key a couple of weeks back. No problem as I have an IID tool. Except yesterday I lost the other one.....

Now chaps, there's no need to remind me that I'm a very silly boy as my wife may have already suggested that.

So, do I have any options other than throwing myself upon the mercy (ha ha!) of the nearest dealer? 2008 TDV8 Vogue
