I'm with you all the way on that 1. They look soooo much better with straight pipes. I did this to my RRS and did it really cheaply. I bought a genuine exhaust from a breakers and had the supercharged boxes welded to the existing exhaust.

Interestingly the 4.4 has the tucked up downward facing pipes too. Fox is correct about why.

I have some dim recollection about soot elements discharged out of the back of diesels requiring them to point the tips downwards. Modern diesels now have some sort of filter in the tail pipes to allow them to point straight out (like a Q7 3.0 TDi for example). |
