United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver
My '07 S/C

I'm now a S/C owner!!

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Green

My second FF and a sad departure from my '02 V8 as below. She was a great, and my first, RR and will be sorely missed. I get very emotional about my cars and felt terrible leaving her behind.

I've never been someone to drive to the fuel light, but did so this time on the 130 mile drive to Cardiff. You can see the trip meter below as I parked on Stratstones forecourt.

But in the collection area sat my newer Supercharged and the start of a new relationship. I'm completely sold on the looks, the engine, the interior changes and the colour.

I'll admit here and now that not all was correct. I've discussed these relatively minor items with Stratstones and will get them rectified at a more local franchise. As Tim rightly said elsewhere, you only find things with time.

After lunch in Cardiff Bay, we headed home. Immediately, I started missing the '02's lux seats. The newer ones just aren't as nice. I adjusted the seat periodically on the way home and I think I've found a position that works, but went through a chronic backache period on the M4. A few tweaks and I hope it's resolved.

What did surprise me was fuel economy. I was hovering around 80mph, sometimes above after a boot to distance myself from tailgaters (I enjoy doing this in our E55 and can now do this in my S/C as well).

Here's what I got and compare that figure to my 90mph dash earlier in my '02 at 17.9....

So, first things are a proper clean. The dealer valet was a cats lick and not at all good enough for me. I've sourced genuine chrome steering wheel spokes and will fit those. Some more piano is needed to further lift the interior and the door sill tread plates will get polished to remove scuffs.

The supercharger will get tweaked and maybe a better flowing air cleaner. Any suggestions?

Mina gallery air cleaner is bit of a weird fit but ultimately sounds amazing and really perks the car up a bit. A new seat foam can help rectify old seats and really up the comfort levels. Also using the ventilated cooling back of the seat on long journeys helps keep aches at bay (although usually I only use this on 2-5 hour journeys).

I really wish I could get your SC mpg figures, I really must drive like a loon compared to people on here ...

That is a very nice looking SC mate (well it looks like mine so obviously it looks nice Wink ).

I hope you will do many many trouble free miles in this car.

As for the seats, I assume yours has the 16 way adjustable seats as well and I am also fiddling with the settings. Mind you, I haven't gotten around to fixing the lumbar supports (likely an electrical fault somewhere). Are you sure yours works ? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Yep, mine work perfectly.

I found the '02 seats instantly comfortable whereas the '07's back support seems inferior by comparison, especially at the top of the seat where the earlier lux seats shine.

That said, at least the S/C gets round corners without using the door handles as stabilisers. Laughing Si. <This is my name.

Following another dealer's refusal to repair a list of minor faults with my S/C, I took her back to Cardiff yesterday to have the faults rectified by the supplying dealer.

Witness the new RRS loan car they've given me. More details on that and a surprise encounter in Other Cars.

Should collect, hopefully fault-free, in a week.
