the air condensor is right in front of the radiator...they cost about £80/90 and the job is quite easy but theres a bit of stripping down to get to it...obviously the system will have to be charged up again.. ... - .- -.

thank you for the quick reply

I phoned a supplier and they said £60.52
Called the local one to where I am going tomorrow and they said £400+ VAT
It then transpires that they tried to sell me a new unit.
Despite me giving them the part number.

gurrrrrrrrr

So, come Monday I will be searching then?

I do hope my hands dinna get dirty Yawn

thanx again Made in Scotland frae 'Girders'

This is the unit, number 4.
Can I ask why you need to replace it?

This the one?

The only service item is the desiccant for the dryer / receiver unless of course you need the whole condenser itself.
I was just curious how you know when it needs replacing.

Having ran aboot for some 6 months with a broken pipe ( unknowingly Big Cry ) my mechanic chappy couldnt fully re-gas the system after replacing the burst pipe.
Everything else seemed ok with the system.

He said that it would prob be the rec/dryer unit as most likely picked up moisture and is 'spent'

So, looking at the pictures, its a unit within the air con rad.

Ill haiv a wee Lookie tomorrow and whey up the 'dirty hands' risk

Thanx for the info.
