As above really... does anyone have experience of owning a pub and renting it to a tenant? There are a few cheap pubs for sale nearby and I am thinking about buying one and renting out.

Well my idea was to buy the place and then keep it as a pub serving meals and rent it to someone else to run. As its been mentioned the pub trade does seem to be on its knees , and there is loads on the market , hence low ish prices and my interest. I looked to buy a pub a couple of years back
Busy place, good turnover
I couldn't make a viable business model for it
Thinking I was making a schoolboy error I employed a professional consultant and he just laughed at the idea of making money from a pub
The place eventually sold; but the couple that bought it are delusional having poured all their money into it and looking to borrow more to make changes
I just keep it zipped when I'm in there
