United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

Ours is now 11 moths old, just done 14k miles.

Driven carefully on A roads the OBC shows around 35mpg, and on a motorway at 70 it is showing around 33mpg. As stated above, the fact that it is geared at 50mph/1000revs helps a lot, and the engine quite happily sits at 1100 revs on a flat section of road.

Real figures for trips to France and back (1200 miles each way from home) are just over 30mpg using the autoroutes at 80 mph.

Bad news on the last trip was we averaged only 18.6mpg towing a 2.5 ton box trailer. (But it was quite happy at 75mph all the way through France.) Just the same as we used to average when we had a S/C. Very Happy

Quick calculation based on ltrs used and miles driven suggests I averaged a real world 29.5mpg last week over 500 miles. Not too dissimilar from the tacho reading.

My OBC is also pretty accurate too - never had any issues with the other L322's either, but then I had standard tyres on it and made sure the OBC calibration was up todate. There are settings for callibration in the user interface for larger smaller tyres etc or I assume when your tyres are significantly worn.

My first 3000kms, from new and average is slightly bellow 30mpg... Very much satified compared to weight and displacement, but don`t know how others achieve over 35mpg? I drive very carfully though...
Is consumption going to be better after the first few thousand miles, after break in?

Long motorway journeys at sensible speeds and 35 is achievable. 1500 revs at 75 ish helps a lot! 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

How do you update the OBC calibration? I've not come across this in the menus of my TDV8? 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11

I've seen 30mpg only very rarely in my MY11 TDv8.

I reckon the wife and I average 27. All very impressive still IMO. MY2011 TDV8 Vogue - GONE

Interesting to see Harry Metcalfe's (ex of Evo magazine) SDV8 L405 loaner is actually doing 27 mpg vs 32 mpg on the display.

Over a period of 8 months of mixed driving, motorway, A and B roads, I see between 29.7 mpg and 33.0 mpg depending on driving conditions, sitting at 80 mph on the motorway and the occasional heavy foot yields c. 29mpg but conversely, on a relaxed drive at say 60-70mph A road/motorway, I can easily average c. 33/34mpg. The lowest I think I've returned so far is 24-25mph crawling in city-centre rush hour traffic.... Overall, I'm very impressed, given the engine size, shear weight and aero-dynamics the returns are more than I expected. Better to be irresponsible and right, than to be responsible and wrong.

Currently experiencing an accurate 27.7mpg from a mix of 60% town, 30% rural and 10% motorway. Can't grumble at that. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11
