Joe, camera was set up on the tripod (which was secured in the back of the car, 2 legs on the floor and 1 on the seat - then further stabilised by hanging my camera bag on the back of it to weight it down) and I set the aperture to f9 and the shutter to 20 seconds. ISO was at 100 and the camera focus point was set at the dash-top before being switched to manual focus (the camera is going nowhere and you want the focal point to be inside the car so that it remains sharper. Also, I didn't want it 'hunting' for a focal point each time). I also switched off the VR in the lens as this causes more issues than it solves on longer exposures. Camera was triggered in my case by an IR remote (bought for £2 from Hong Kong as opposed to £30 for the official Nikon one in the UK).
