United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 V8 Java Black
Worth changing '04 4.4 for '07 facelift supercharged

Hi Guys,

Had my 2004 4.4 Autobiog for 15 months or so now, and is a great car, but I feel it is starting to look a little dated both inside and out, and lacks some features which I would like to have.

I know I could do the front facelift, but to be honest, just don't want to mess with the front end on mine, prefer things original where possible!

I have been offered a 2007 (facelift) 4.2 supercharged vogue se with similar miles to mine, and in terms of spec standard VSE fare with everything mine has plus more, I guess cost to change would be around 5k, can anyone who has made the leap from early l322 to 07 facelift let me know if it is worthwhile? Is the 4.2 supercharged similar on MPG/reliability to the 4.4 BMW engine (I avg around 16-17 mpg)

Appreciate any responses! 2004 4.4 Autobiography - gone
2014 4.4 SDV8 VSE - gone
2012 4.4 TDV8 Overfinch

i think you will find the 07 s/c a better car than your 04...newer interior with terrain ,better 6 speed gearbox and of course what you mentioned , the newer front end...very tempting i would say.. ... - .- -.

I'm in the same situation as 117 as I'm also seriously considering changing to an '07-onwards S/C.

I'd like more mid-range urge but also prefer the revised interior (shame about the deletion of those wonderful Lux seats, though...), better sat-nav and having cooled seats. I also think RSE would help keep my 2 and 10 year-old children a little more amused on long trips. Si. <This is my name.
