Ask an MOT tester

As a Noobie to FFRR I thought I would offer u all a bit of free advice

Are you getting your car ready for a UK MOT ?

Has your car just failed ?

Want to modify it but unsure of any MOT requirements that may be affected etc etc !

Then post your question here

I have been a UK MOT tester since 1989 and i will "pass my opinion" on your questions

Please read the info below first as it may help your enquirey

Thanks for the offer, MOT test due soon so I'll kick the thread off.

I have 4 x 20 inch wheels and the spare is a 19 inch, the tyres are all 255's is this ok for the MOT?

TIA. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

^^ I think as long as the tread depth is legal and its got the same overall diameter so as not to mismatch any axle it was fitted to as if a normal wheel it should be ok. the width doesn't matter just the diameter hence the super skinny space savers Smile

If a wing mirror is damaged and gaffa taped up so as just to cover the front facing section of it and leave no sharp edges but is secured still to the vehicle is that a pass or a fail?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Without seeing the mirror this one is a bit awkward (down to testers opinion on quality of repair)

But in general as long as repair is clearly "appropriate", mirror is secure and is able to provide a clear view of behind the vehicle with no "projections or sharp edges" then Pass and advise would be the most likely and expected result
