Sounds like you have a good car Thrasher, and a loyal FFRR fan. No taking it away from you guys, the interiors are the envy of the car world, and it's a car i will look to when the new model comes out in 2012

I have had my Fullfat from new and i love it.

I am in my 30s, dont smell of p**s, dont wear slippers never offroad and I too have a big C*ck. I do like Ho's ( not the gardening kind! ) & drugs, I have 22" Overfinch Tigers so maybe i get the best of both worlds.

Right, joking aside and now we have some RRS drivers here (judging by the link to the RRS boards) I would like to be educated as a non-RRS owner.

So, what is the appeal of the RRS?
I am not sure I really understand and would like your input as people who went out and bought one.
Maybe I get the Super Charged, but most were sold with diesel engines. Most of which had the 2.7 that was nearly as pedestrian as the Td6 FFRR.

The Range Rover Sport at first glance shares the platform and technology/running gear with the Disco 3/4, but costs more and is smaller and less practical. Why?

Rather than abuse, can I have some reasoned input please.

The main appeal of the RRS is exactly what makes the FF so great. It's the fact that it is a more ''common'' product.

Let me clarify. Most people want something which is more fashionable, something you can buy and get rid of quite fast and then go for an X5, Q, ML, Porker, whatever is ''on'' at the time... And the RRS fits this niche perfectly. One can buy his wife one and she'll love it. It's practical, goes well and fits with her shoes or something like that. Come time to trade it, and you won't fell sorry, because any other of the above mentioned will give you a similar experience.

That means that FF's are great because no one will buy them. They fit in the special customer / exotic car lists. You can't buy the common wife one because she can't pick bags from the other side of the car without going into some awkward positions, the rear top shelf is too heavy, etc...Only people who are predestined to own one will take that step.

The main thing, I think, goes like this. If you're not ''genetically'' predisposed to like a FF you will never see any significant difference when you get inside one, enabling you to buy any car of the above mentioned. But if you are, like most of us here are, the moment you sit in one, it'll blow everything away and you'll struggle to ever find another car that satisfies you as much as a FF does.

It's something like an unexplainable passion. I feel it. If i'm asked to say what's best about it, when compared to other cars, be it a Rolls, Bentley, another LR, Porker, Jag, etc...i can't really put the finger on anything important, except the fact that I would doubt about spending money on anything other than a FF. The feel would always be like, that's a great car but..........i can have the same and more in my FF......

Read with interest - cheers Hoppy! There I was (rather naïvely) thinking that banter was given and taken in good spirit!

I'm certainly not "wealthier than thou" nor a "petentious tw t" - I certainly don't view myself as "upmarket" in the slightest. I was raised well on a northern council estate where my parents still live happily, and we were never particularly well off. All I wanted was the best vehicle I could get for my money after getting shot of the Alfa which served me well for 9 yrs.

I was initially impressed by the incredibly versatile Disco 3 after driving them through to Austria on a couple of skiing trips: and thought that would do me nicely - easily accommodating 6 guys and our ski kit. However, used prices didn't really appeal. And worse so, used values for the RRS being stupidly high - due to popularity no doubt. I was baffled by this (as stated previously) because the RRS is based on the same base as the Disco with a lot of common components - minus the loadspace and the extra seats of course.

And so it was, I started looking at FFRR, which were priced comparably with the Disco 3. To be honest guys it was a no brainer. Much more vehicle for the money, and I am more than happy with my purchase. Quite where people from the other forum get off berating others who buy a 3 yr old vehicle as opposed to a brand new one is frankly baffling - I invite you to pull your heads from out out of your own backsides and look in amongst your own ranks. Bad drills. Elitism in itself guys???

Anyway - rant over. Enjoying the thread by the way (even if way off track by now). Keep up the good work!

I agree with Dan above, for my budget, the FFRR was the best choice. I really don't get rivalry on subjects like this, it's pathetic. It's very much the same between some Classic and New Mini owners . Frankly, bores the arse off me! 2006 Mercedes CLS
