Black Alloys - Picture Request

Hi all,

I've decided to get rid of the 20" SC alloys and Contis which came with my car and downsize to a set of 19's shod with MT-R's (I seem to be doing more green laning than originally planned!).

I've just bought a set of 06MY onwards 7-spoke 19's off ebay and am tempted to get them re-finished in black (or a dark smoked colour) before they go on the car, just to be a bit different and less bling.

Has anyone else done this? If so I'd love to see some pictures before I make my mind up. I see that several of the guys on DISCO3.co.uk have gone this route, but I've not seen it on a FFRR before. Body colour is Bonatti Grey so was hoping a satin or gloss black would look ok...

Any thoughts and pics would be much appreciated. Thumbs Up

Cheers,
Steve. 2013 Range Rover Evoque Coupe

I am a big fan or Black or Smoked/Dark Grey Wheels and think they look fab with Black, Grey or White cars.

Just do it what is there to lose? You will love the result with the big MT-R's Thumbs Up Very Happy

Thumbs Up Bow down

I'm loving that Discovery! I think that's just convinced me... Very Happy

Thanks for the pics.

I've just found a place in Brum that's offering chemical dip and powder coating for £20 per wheel. Got to be worth a try at that price, even if it only lasts a year. 2013 Range Rover Evoque Coupe

The person to speak to re colouring existing LR alloys is Ken ( Long Term Member of this and the D3 site).

I supplied him with some 20" SC 9 spokes and he had them done in a Grey on his Silver Autobiography. Looked Fab Cool . He gets the job done properly and wont use anyone not up to standard.

If u check his gallery i think he had a few pics etc..

If you PM him from this site but if u get no joy try him on the Disco 3 site. He will have some pics in his gallery on the D3 site too.

Thanks for the tip. Is that the same Ken who is often mentioned when it comes to a good deal on MT-R's?

Done some more digging and found a US website with a decent gallery section (they re-finish OEM Land Rover alloys) ... This is the wheel style I have, re-finished in gloss black:

Should look good with a set of MT-R's... Cool

There are some other OEM wheel styles on there in different finishes if it's of use to anyone else:

I quite agree but would it make enough money to make it worthwhile?

Hadn't spotted the A-Team connection! There's a LDV van minibus thing around Leamington done up in A-Team colours, stripes and all - looks fantastic! 2013 Range Rover Evoque Coupe
