United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
Is it time for me to change?

Any thoughts on this guys?

My TDV8 Vogue SE with RSE is now at 95,000 miles and running like a dream, I still love it, every journey brings a smile to my face. The bodywork is in superb condition and the interior looks as good as it did when I bought it (I'm not heavy on cars and don't damage them). With the full Jet interior it looks stunning. See latest picture below after I fitted the side tubes the other weekend. Cool

When I next trade up I want to get a 2010MY facelift with either the 3.6 or the 2011MY 4.4 (Although the 4.4's are quite a bit more money). Not only do I like the facelift look, I also want the TFT dash and I'm after some other key features such as a Morzine headlining (black). I would prefer to stick with a Vogue SE as I like having things like the Adaptive headlights and cooled seats. (Certainly not bothered about TPMS Censored ) I'm not bothered about RSE this time round.

I only like three key colours in this order : Grey (Stornoway or laterly Orkney), Black or Silver.

As the L405 is now hitting the roads, more and more L322 2010MYs should be coming into the second hand market but I am wondering if it is still to early for the prices to have been affected (lowered) or even if they will at all - demand for Range Rovers seems extremely high right now.

As winter is now over, and perhaps the 4x4 craze wears off, when is the best time to swap? I know it's all relative, you buy and sell at the same time so what difference does it make unless you sell in the peak and do without the RR until the prices dip again, not an option.

So, I am left pondering if I should just keep what I have and see how long I can drive it until big things start to break and need repairs, or move it on before it reaches the 100K mark, as I still think there's a stigma attached to cars over the 100,000 miles mark.

I am guessing my car is worth about £20k on a private sale as it's a high spec and a desirable colour combination and in excellent condition with a full LRSH.

i've looking at ranges and certainly that 100k mileage seems to be my 'top' miles limit..the new toys on the facelift models are nice but yet another thing that might go wrong..i personally like the rear lights on the 06-09 models and not the weird ones on the 2010 facelifts..

I agree with Stan. Life's too short.

I was very happy with my D3, towed the caravan brilliantly, I had it for five years and apart from an EGR valve and a suspension compressor it was faultless.
However, I said, when I reached sixty five I would replace it with a Range Rover FF which I did last August.
Very pleased with the result at the moment.
A very good friend of mine said to me some years ago when I was looking at buying a Rolls Royce
"MEMORIES ARE BETTER THAN DREAMS" so I bought the car and never regretted it and I still have it thirteen years on.

It's only 5 years old. If it is running like a dream I would keep it a few more years. You will get less money in 2 years time when you sell, but I bet the difference is much less than you would lose on depreciation buying a 2010 today and what it would be worth in 2 years time.
Plenty of people buy FFRR's with over 100k on the clock. As always, they would buy on condition and yours, with FLRSH, is a cracker. BUT... It could be you just fancy a change, then all of the above doesn't apply.. Thumbs Up

I'm in a similar dilemma to you, Tim, and am giving serious consideration to buying either a 4.2 S/C or a 3.6 TDV8 for no other reason than it seems about the right time.

I'd say make the change. This is the second time you've posed this question, so it seems there's definitely an itch to scratch. Si. <This is my name.

I traded up from an identical FF to yours, to a MY11 4.4 Vogue SE in the same colour last September when the L405 prices were announced. Becasue of the £20k up lift in L405 prices I don't think you'll see the MY10/11 dropping faster than they normally would over the next few years.

The 4.4 is a major step up from the 3.6 in terms of NVH and power delivery and the ride is much improved. I also had the JE remap on both the 3.6 and 4.4. Both are worth doing IMHO. MPG is better for the 4.4 compared to the 3.6 and further improved by the JE remap.

As for the toys, some items on the 2007 are not standard on the newer Vogue SE i.e. adpative lights. The standard seats on the MY11 are much better than the 2007.

I also had a day in the L405 (on/off road) and it didn't impress me enough to want to change up from the MY11.

Drive a 4.4 and I think you'll appreciate the need to swap Wink MY23 D350 HSE

I keep wondering about mine. Don't know whether to get rid or run it into the ground. I'll certainly keep until I no longer need a big trailer when my house is finished, then decide. Inclination is to sell, but I don't like realising all that depreciation! Big Cry

Good luck on your decision Adam , where as I am giving myself till Wednesday of next week to decide if I will change mine as after years of having FF's I have a yearning for a normal 4 door saloon car ..... Rolling Eyes

But going by the sound of yours I would keep it Thumbs Up next one you get might not be so good …. Whistle ====================================

Adam, if you have the £ and can justify it go for the 4.4 TDV8, the acceleration is just Brutal Twisted Evil

I'm working on an identical plan. I sold my 2008/08 a couple of months back, and am waiting for the face lifts to dip under 30k. High mileage examples are there now, and I think by end of summer this year with some searching and haggling there'll be a car at £30k with the right spec for me.

I sold mine when I did as it had 87k miles and, despite cars lasting much longer these days, I agree people have a mental block about 100k+ cars and the value drops considerably.

The only thing I would say is I've condemned myself to 6 months without an FFRR and boy is it dragging Big Cry Laughing Lloyd Barnes

Gary Elliot should be able to give you an idea when the 2011 4.4 TDV8 will be under £30k. I think a lot of 3.6 owners are ready for the move.
