You could try complaining. I did, and got nowhere. What a load of crap. Corrosion on a nearly new modern car. Graham

the rubber trim strips at the bottm of the window are a relatively cheap fix, most i've seen are the same. |

The rubber window trims are aluminium inside - its not rust but some form or alloy corrosion. Very common on older cars so just buy new ones. |

Sounds like galvanic corrosion where two dissimilar metals (of which one is less noble) start to react basically create a battery when an electrolyte is added (water, preferably slightly salty). The less noble metal will then start to corrode as it loses electrons.

When I bought mine I noticed a couple of rust bubbles under the paint. I thought they had a 6 years corrosion warranty so went to my local dealer who took some pictures. Came back with the response that because there wasn't a hole in it it was a non starter. I pointed out that in the warranty book it didn't state this and it repeatedly mentions corrosion warranty not perforation warranty ie if it has corrosion before the expiry of the warranty it was covered...apparently NOT!!
