TDV8 brake pad and Discs supplier?

Having looked around on the net extensively it seems that I can do the following to replace my pads and discs:

1. Go to the Dealer and get shafted for genuine items
2. Find various parts on eBay in bits and bobs, some genuine, some not (Mintex etc)
3. Go to Paddock Motor Spares and get them all in one place but not genuine discs, pads are TRW (apparently genuine brand?) £166 inc VAT & Delivery for pads and discs.

Does anyone know anywhere else to get good quality brake parts I will need the whole lot, including brake pad sensor wires too (which no one seems to sell on eBay Discovery 4 HSE

I've priced up TDV8 brake parts and they're not at all bad for LR genuine parts - if you get a discount Smile

I've always used a firm called brakes international who will sell to private buyers but supply mostly to motor factors.

They have an online catalogue which I wasn't aware of until you posted this question..... (we have a shop nearby so i dont need it)

They have standard vented discs at £24 each or those for the Brembo caliper at £37.57

They do a range of brake pads of varying quality but a good set for the front axle are £53.25. They do a cheaper set for £36.25

wear sensors are £12.61 each

Not sure how that stands up, let us know if you find cheaper/ better Very Happy

I use EBC Red Stuff ceramic pads on my car (not a Land Rover yet). They're excellent - they have a great initial bite, they don't fade with heat and produce very little brake dust - until I switched to these, I used OEM pads for a 15 year old car... My point is, I'm picky about braking performance.

I get them from ebcbrakesdirect.com. They do disks too, but I have no experience with them. Researching my first Range Rover purchase

That was for the TD6 and 4.4V8 models only.

The SC and TDV8 models use the Brembo brakes which are more expesnive and for some reason, harder to find. I think the rears are pretty standard across the board. Discovery 4 HSE

Ah, get you. I sourced my AP Racing calliper parts (now owned by Brembo) from a Racing discs & pads specialist up here in Lancashire - Questmead - but they normally only deal with the trade i.e. Race companies, but they did help me with my specialist car and the prices were good (as they're a race company, I don't think they warranty the items though). You could ask them, because my AP pistons are actually Brembo parts now. May be worth giving them a call,

Local dealers prices varying massively.

1. £750
2. £650
3. £600
4. £630 just for the fronts!!!!

Managed to get an all in price of £500 from a local LR dealer. They win hands down over the indie. Funny how its the same dealer that I have always got on well with. Discovery 4 HSE

Was motoring along yesterday, at quite a lick, stamped on the brakes to test them a little and man did they FAAAAAAAAADDDDDE. Shocked

If it had been an emergency stop I'd have gone into the back of someone. Just as I was thinking maybe I could get more life out of them, decided to get the wallet out and just get them done. A big heavy fast car needs great brakes and mine are far from great. Discovery 4 HSE

Car was in the dealers for the TPMS fix last 2 days and also asked them to do the brakes.

They rang me to ask why Shocked

Apparently I have at least 5000 miles left in them and the pads are fine, discs not too bad but they couldn't see the point.

GREAT! Leave them on them, I don't mind not forking out all that cash! Discovery 4 HSE
