car tax gone up

has anyone noticed that the car tax for post march 2006 ranges has gone up from £475 to £490 per year..

cant remember this being mentioned in the budget.. ... - .- -.

Ah yes, they got you:
“Road tax rates have been frozen as part of the 2013 Budget announcement” . But “frozen” is a relative term: “after a rise inline with inflation last year, it means Vehicle Excise Duty will only increase alongside the Retail Price Index from April.” Hence the £15 increase (3%)

Just paid mine last Tuesday night, £475 on reminder, £490 when I paid online.
If nothing else they were quick to send it out, turned up on Friday.
