I was looking for the rails, I love the look of them. Also I think the cross bars are then much easier to add!
Look for part number CAB000030PMA, there is a difference between the ones that just go into the existing slots and the ones that go into the roof rails. This guy thought these were for the rails, but he didnt check the part number, I did - they are for fitting directly into the roof. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...K:MEWNX:IT Next is the set of lashing eyes for the bars, http://www.shop4landrover.co.uk/product/Ex..._VUB503160 ![]() |

Anyone fitted these? There are some plastic flaps that lift up, but you cant seem to fit the bars with them in place and the fitting instructions are not very clear:

when I fitted the rails, I had to remove the flaps by breaking them, which to me is a very bad design |

I seem to recall reading somewhere that once you fit the roof bars, it is something you can't go back on because it DOES have a permanent effect on the roof rails in some way. What others have said backs this up. I would only get them if I was absolutely desperate for a roof rack or box. Discovery 4 HSE

![]() Not in my experience (on the few occasions I have needed to use them). Gently open the flaps using a screw driver or coin - remove the grub screw in each area using allen key - position the front and rear roof bars where they should go - then tighten each retaining screw (1 on each foot of the bars) into the thread where the grub screws were. I have only used the bars for light use over short distances and have not had any problems (lengths of skirting board etc from the local timber merchants) I would not be prepared to use them for heavy loads (bikes or fully loaded roof boxes) over long distances because I do not think the retaining screws would be strong enough - but then I haven't heard any horror stories of them falling off, so I could be wrong to assume this. Now, having said all that - Can I find each of the retaining screws for my bars since I last used them? Can I ![]() |

Thanks guys, I think I had the bars in the wrong positions and they now seem to fit OK with the little door flaps open. Not a good look, what was wrong with the P38 push and slide system!?

I think the front roof bar only fits in that 1 position because of its width, whereas the rear bar (the narrower bar) can fit in either middle or rear positions - depends on the length of the load you intend to carry.
