Pre heater followed by Flat battery

Did anyone use their preheater during the cold weather then couldn't start the car. I bought my car May last year and one of the things I had to do was to replace the battery so I did; how do I know whether I have bought a suitable battery for the preheater to work.

Hi Stan

I did a search for my car and it came up with the Bosch S3 90 amp, stocked locally and I was really desperate for the battery so I bought it.

wrong battery Elena, it should be a bosch s5015, type 020 with a 920 cca not 720 cca [017] as you have ...this battery will probably be ok in the summer months but it will let you down when it gets cold... ... - .- -.

Thanks Stan, wish I had asked before I bought the battery but as with most women I was much too impatient to wait but I will get this sorted now, thanks again, cheers Elena

Search the forum and you'll find a couple of threads re. installing the Bosch battery

The battery is larger than the original and the threads contain some useful tips on getting it to fit! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!
