Depends on what you've got to move, the value and the likely destinations.

Also size matters. Whistle

Be glad to quote you if you could let me have an idea of the above?

Cheers

From a purely personal, non commercial opinion, DPD are incredible

Tracking by Emails, Text Messaging, 1 hour delivery slots.. So clever

Not the usual nonsense where you wait in all day , or miss them and end up at their depot in some godforsaken industrial estate miles away Big Cry

For BIG things I used Pallex to pick up a set of 4 wheels & tyres 100's of miles away for relative peanuts Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

Cut a long story short I recently attempted to use the cheapest courier going to move a full RR interior from a remote location to my house. Mentioning no names (initialed P F and mentioned above) had 4 failed collections and although helpful with free rebooking just couldn't make it work. I ended up paying almost double for a courier to turn up with a pallet, wrap and deliver 48h later, everything went smoothly first time. I guess with really expensive or unusual items its really worth using a more expensive premium courier.

I'm not saying I'd never use paisley freight again, I'd just pick and choose when and what. If it looks awkward I'd opt for premium service.

I also tend to only use TNT for parcels as I can book up to 11am for a same day collection (and they actually turn up) meaning anyone on the other end doesn't have too much inconvenience.

I have a reasonable amount of experience with this game & IMHO I would rank the Big National carriers in the following order on Service quality (i.e. not price!)

Big Dave Whistle

DPD
UPS
Yodel
TNT
Parcel Force
Tuffnells
Nightfreight
City Link

TNT have suffered of late with the failed UPS buyout & staff move between companies liike there's no tomorrow. The ex-CEO of Parcel Force Dick Stead is now with Yodel, likewise previous senior managers of Parcel Force are now with City Link trying to turn them around. A lot of ex-City Link staff are now with Nightfreight due to the ex-MD moving across. It's so incestuous.

In terms of service, as the cliche goes, "You get what you pay for!"

Mick, what do you need moving & where to? I may be able to help... Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I use Interparcel at work - www.interparcel.com - They act like a broker and you can compare most of the major couriers prices. Their own standard services are usually done via UPS.
