United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover SE Td6 Zermatt Silver

Just for info I just had a quote from an Engine/Engineering Company quoting £3008 to collect a TD6 RR, remove the engine, fully recondition/rebuild the engine, re-install the engine, guarantee for 5 years.

Previously I had a quote for the same plan for a ZF gearbox at £1680 (I know the TD6 is a GM box) but that makes a total Engine/Gearbox replacement £4700.00

Makes buying a high mileage example a little easier especially if your getting at least 3k off the RRRP due to the mileage. Thumbs Up (In this case nearer 8k)

England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver

The other way to look at this situation is the depreciation on your current TDV8, compared to that on the TD6 which would probably pay for all of the above work in less than 12 months... and lets face it, you'd have really had a lemon to have all the above to cater for. Its a Landrover - 10 year scrappage deal my arse Very Happy Only thing that will take Old Rangies off the road is the financial viability of repair.

Big factor is the type of milage - Motorways or Welsh mountain roads makes a big difference on the wear and tear. Bushes though don't cost the earth.

Motorway I believe and based on the condition of the car which is amazing that seems logical.

Typical!

Just when I wanted to sell MY TD6 in Tonga Green (the best example anyone would find anywhere) there were very few buyers, now it seems everyone wants one!

Sounds about right. Rolling Eyes

When you are selling something, nobody wants it!
When you are buying something everyone wants it!

If I do get a cheaper one I decided I want an unmolested Tonga, Giverny or Epsom Green car with light interior. I am looking at good condition, low owners and full service history. Not to bothered about mileage this time Smile
