Gotta love that. Thumbs Up

Gap Diagnostics really sound on the ball. Waiting for my IIDTool to arrive. If you don't get stuck then you are not trying hard enough.

I hope somebody from GAP Diagnostics is reading this, as the service they just provided you with has made my mind up to get their tool rather than a competitors.

Expect my order soon Smile

Cheers

Jerry

Actually, that was not our exact reasoning Laughing but all potential fault sources were examined during the development of the IIDTool. The IIDTool allows much more than most aftermarket diagnostic systems - especially those for individual users - and as such the potential for problems to occur increases. While we do not expect problems such as these to become common, in a rare case they will occur and we have to be ready to deal with them.

Despite the fact that things like this can occur, both the systems in the FF and in the IIDTool are actually relatively robust. When something such as this occurs it is generally not due to one distinct problem but the cumulation of several unlikely events. There are several things that can be done to make occurrences like this even more unlikely and making sure the battery is fully charged and in good shape and reading the manual are a good start.

We will try to implement even more safety features in the future, but the IIDTool really is a tool. And even a hammer will work better with a bit of practice... Laughing

And if something does go wrong, please contact us directly either through support@ our website or GAP-Team@ our site. We are not always on the forums or paying attention to all threads or PMs, but we will always check for email and respond ASAP.

Has anyone turned off the hot monitoring for just the trailer lights (I've got LED lights on a trailer which flash every few seconds due to the hot monitoring) or would I have to turn off all hot monitoring?

Has anyone made a video on using it and playing with settings? Would be good to see it in action:)

This is with the iPad app - but the apps only provide control. Functions remain the same regardless of what interface you use.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is hot and cold monitoring? I've seen this in the IID menu but I haven't touched it.

that's for bulb tests...if you have fitted leds and an error comes up on the dash then you can switch the monitoring off for that particular bulb. ... - .- -.

Hot monitoring is done when the lights are on and thus hot. This is simply done by monitoring current.
Cold is when they are off and is tested by sending a pulse of current through the lights to check continuity. This is also why LEDs flash rapidly in certain positions.
