Back to the Future : maps updated to from 05 to '08

Grabbed a disk (original) from ebay for a tenner with 2008 map update. It makes a few updates to the system as soon as you put it in, no need to power on. 5 mins later I'm up and running. No noticeable difference to look at.....oh, except it insisted it was in Beligum until I told it otherwise Smile

next thing i'd like to tackle is accessing the address book on by crackberry. Is that a Main Stealer only trick ? I heard they have to do a software update

Phone book over bluetooth was only included as a customer cost option on the later vehicle bluetooth module software. The module is identical for 05 - 09MY cars and thus can be enabled assuming the correct software level is installed. There are many tales of woe from both sides of the pond on this subject and the general consensus is that most of the time the software update does apply itself properly to the modules and the dealers can't figure out why. The easiest, and probably the most cost effective way in the long term is to just replace the module.

It cost me £167 as an exchange part (£50 surcharge payable should I not return my old one) and took me 2 minutes to fit in the car park. I know have perfect bluetooth operation and phonebook sync. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

I'd not heard about the module being replaced...but wouldn't rule that out as a option.

More than I had in mind though - for me it's only a "nice to have" rather than essential.
