Does anybody know how to turn the system off completley ?

I was told, by my dealer, it could not be done.

But I think they are telling porkies, as I have a document somewhere that shows it being selectable.

Therefore it would have to be done at the stealers.

I've got the Blackbox Faultmate MSV for my 2002 and it allows me to monitor and change a whole load of parameters. I can also change or switch on/off various settings throughout the BECM, EMS, Driver Aides, Suspension etc so I'm sure the Dealer (or appropriately equipped Independent) can easily switch the TMS off.

Many thanks, Ill ask the dealer again but they tell me it is not an option on IDS Diagnostics.
They also tried disconnecting the TPM module in the boot but this brings on a permanent fault on the dash so thats no good.
Various dealers have tried re-calibrating, changing sensors etc...nothing has ever worked.
I have 22 Inch rims but that shouldnt make a difference.....

Mine's deactivated; I have no idea how it was done though as it was the PO that I assume sorted this.

Stratstone of Mayfair did all the work to the car, but I cannot find any documentation relating to the deactivation.

ETA - I have normal tyre valves all round. Maybe the fact that the wheel sensors are not there is the solution?

Mine has never worked since I got the car, what a total piece of Sh** it is. Dealer can't figure out how to repair it either. Discovery 4 HSE

The TPMS has to be installed and tested in the vehicle manufacturing environment. The process is generally as follows. The TPMS sensors are attached to the wheel during the wheel and tyre assembly process. The wheels are then attached to the vehicle. This is the first point at which the TPMS can be clearly associated with the vehicle. In the case of battery-powered RF systems, it is on this final car assembly line that RF antennas are used to extract the unique IDs of the TPMS. These IDs, and their associated wheel position on the car are downloaded to the vehicle Engine Management Unit. This enables warnings to be associated with wheel position.

Similarly, the franchised car dealer workshop needs to have portable tools available to extract the wheel sensor ID, and in the case of battery-powered TPMS, reprogram the car's ECU as would be required for wheel sensor module replacement when a battery fails. Service to the vehicle tyres may also require replacement of a TPMS sensor due to valve core corrosion, a broken band, or other issues.

When a TPMS sensor is replaced, it is important to understand your vehicle. Every manufacturer has a different method to reprogram the vehicle. Some vehicles simply reprogram themselves while you drive. Others require the user to perform an action, such as turning the key and pressing a pedal, or using the key-fob to trigger a re-learn mode. Not all vehicles may be placed into a re-learn mode— some require an extra interface to the vehicles OBDII/CAN-BUS to speak with the vehicle ECU, BCM or other device. Vehicles with this interface require the user to return to the dealership for a tyre rotation.................... ====================================
