20k for a S/C 06 MDL

Called in at a car dealer to enquire about a TDV8 07 mdl for 35k only to be brought down to earth with the phrase " Sorry but your 06 mdl with only 28,000 mile on the clock 4.2 S/C Vogue SE is only worth 20k " ................... NOW IS THAT A KICK IN THE TESTES OR WHAT.

Think i will settle for a full respray in another colour and new wheels and get the ugly kid windows re - done , have noticed they are fading thru time .

PS

IS IT JUST MINE , EACH TIME I HAVE PUT NEW WIPER BLADES ON WITHIN A WEEK THE VIEW GOES ALL STREAKY - HAZY WAY AGAIN ON BOTH THE UP SWIPE AND DOWN SWIPE .

ONLY WAY I GET A CLEARVIEW IS WHEN THE WIPERS STOP , HAVE TRIED ALLSORTS OF WAYS TO CLEAN THE WINDSCREEN WITH DIFFERENT CLEANERS /DEGREASING AGENTS .........

£20,000 for a 2006 s/c is Big Cry Shocked Big Cry Shocked Evil or Very Mad

Stick with your car Mick. It isnt worth the extra 10k plus for the TDV8

The market is so poor at the moment that although the dealer sells one car they are left with the part ex. Things will settle but the best thing is to stick it out and only buy if you need to.

In a nutshell there is nothing wrong with the S/C and i dont mind the running costs plus it has all the toys , just been reading in this forum about how good the TDV8 is and thought maybe i should get one of them .

Alright my FF is coming up for 3 and a half year old , depreciation is part and parcel of the game , and when you know you have paid 73k for a car and then a few year down the line all you are offered is 20k .

Thats how for the past couple of weeks i have been thinking S/C -- TDV8 -- S/C --TDV8.

Anyhow after finding out what i would get as a PX i think for the time being i will just have to calm my jet's and stick with the S/C , or plan B , Give the TEENAGE DAUGHTER MY FF AND TAKE HER MERC CABRIOLET AS THATS WORTH MORE THAN MINE AND PX THAT FOR A TDV8 Twisted Evil .

Then there is the downside i would need to buy all that chrome stuff again ..... Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Laughing Laughing

Give it to your teenage daughter? Are you insane?

A great way to help her kill herself. I know I might start a row here but women generally have NO CLUE how to drive a RR and how it's dynamics react upon sudden handling changes. Putting a 2.7 tonne rolly polly car with a 4.2 Supercharged V8 engine in the hands of a teenage female just sounds like madness to me.

She has sat all her advanced driving courses and although i say teenage i mean 21 years of age , i still think of her as a teenager .

She has a 3.2 V6 clk at the moment and she handles that like a pro.

By no means is she a Girl Racer , she is very astute when it comes to driving , i have seen her handle driving situations that a Man would think twice at.

Weight and dynamics of the FF are not a problem , She sat and passed her LGV Class 1 through the young drivers scheme at 19 , and although a student during the week , at weekends she drives a 44 tonne articulated lorry pulling a 45 ft trailer fully freighted.

Thats why i do not have any qualms about giving her the FF................. Thumbs Up

If by that you mean the housework then i admit i have been known to think twice and on occassions three or four times about it!!!!

Only joking - sounds like she knows what she is doing and if she did get hold of the ffrr we would get a new member!!!! How many females do we have already
