Sounds roughly about right unless you have the plate to go with it and if Gaz is about for a cap value.

Defenders will keep their money so much longer than anything else that's about so at that age and price point it will be depreciating a bit slower at this age point. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Nice and original and unmolested. Thumbs Up

£14,000 seems on the high side to me but the condition, as you've established, appears to be very high.

Td5's suffer from oil leaching into the injector harness, so ask if that's been replaced or budget for it if not. It's, apparently, an easy DIY fix.

At that age, expect some chassis rust. A common area is adjacent to the rear wheels at the lowest chassis point where the chassis forms a downward curve. It's a moisture trap for the chassis internals so have a good poke around there. It's easily plated if a problem but will be an MOT failure due to that normally being the chassis attachment point for the towbar.

I'd also budget for a full set of oil and filter changes. Again, it's a very easy DIY job but regular oil changes on a Defender make a big difference.

At that age, you may find that the intercooler could use removed and cleaned inside and out. It's a pretty easy DIY job and one worth doing. Si. <This is my name.
