England 2005 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Buckingham Blue

I have just enquired at my dealer about the transfer box and diff oil change frequencies for my 4.2 s/c.

I was told:

Transfer box, 5 years or 75k, approx 1.5 litres
Diffs, 10 years or 150k, 0.6 and 1.2 litres

I am just approaching 150k so stocked up on the relevant oils and washers for £90.

Transfer box - LRIYK500010
Diffs - LRTYK500010

Yes. Probably.

I also had my gearbox oil and filter changed at 100k as I am uncomfortable with this oil for life business.

sorry for jumping in here, but seemed as good a place as any!!

i had an oil service last May at 48k, my next service will be an insp 1, but i haven't done many miles in the last 10/11 months.

i was wondering what the general opinion is, do i just leave things and wait for the car to tell me when it's due or do i have the oil and filters changed anyway because it's been another year of motoring?

any help advice appreciated as every... Thumbs Up Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

How long to wait?

I have had no dashboard notifications and its approaching 18 months since last service, albeit only 9-10 k miles.
I've owned car about 11 months.
I enquired at 12 months and was told by main dealer to let car decide.
I've decided I don't want to wait any longer, I spoke again with the dealer and booked it in for the same time as MOT is due, in a couple of weeks. The service portfolio doesn't show a major service (Inspection B), approaching 75k miles now.
Been quoted £450 for Inspection B, however grabbed a bargain on the oil fom ECP, dealers quite happy for me to provide own oil, therefore price should be a little less.
Had it, loved it!

Did the dealer say anything about length of time since last service? Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

It was the same main dealer I discussed it with, just before 12 months had elapsed.
I asked for it to be noted in case of any warranty claims, in case LR would claim inadequate servicing.
I half expected them to just take my money, but the advice was to wait for the cars Service Indicator to come on.
Quite surprising really.
