Fire extinguishers are probably only worth having for putting people who are on fire out, rather than the car.

Don't forget to switch the headlight direction levers when you get on the tunnel/boat. A simple 2 minute task while you wait at the terminal. Discovery 4 HSE

And remember to do both sides, especially if you have adaptive lights. My car was a little bozz-eyed on my last trip through france.

That's what happened to my friend, he stopped to assist a car fire and used his only fire extinguisher. When the police arrived and fire service and it was all sorted the police pointed out that he could not continue his journey as he didn't have a useable exstinguisher. having come across a few car fires i can say that these little extinguishers dont do much to douse the flames cos once the fire takes hold there will be nothing to stop it...i would stop and not do any thing tbh [unless there is human life in danger] ... - .- -.

Not came for a while...

I'm french (as you can read with my poor english)
I never read or heard something about having a fire estinguisher is mandatory.
For the bulb, you must be abble to change your bulb if one failed, but no policeman would ask you for a bulb kit in case of control.
In my car, I only have all the spare bulbs except for xenon.
