M57 Cylinder numbering

Does anyone know for 100% if the cylinders are numbered 1-6 from rear to front or 1-6 Front to back?

IE is cylinder 6 at the flywheel end or is it cylinder 1??

I cant seem to find anything online easily and am stumped FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.

2005 Range Rover Vogue SE Td6 Tonga Green

Im pretty sure 1 is the pulley end and 6 is the flywheel. Its usually french cars that are the wrong way round in my experience.

But i also cant find any confirmation of this either. So im not being that helpfull

No1 always at the front ( cambelt/ chain) end on all engines

Thats what i thought but im still getting high values on 5 and 6 after its all been cleared out FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.

Not always, Peugeot and Citroen are numbered from the flywheel.

^^^ that's what I thought! And then there are some engines that spin backwards! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
