Reversing Camera Options

I was looking through the owners info section on the GTR website and came across this document.

http://files.me.com/stevegt/6nytj0

It is the Driver Information Systems handbook from the 2005 MY Range Rover and it details a number of different modes for the Rear View Camera. These include the standard screen and additional screens showing a guidance box and turning radii.

I have quizzed my local dealer over this and they deny all knowledge of these options and proceeded to try and sell me a new 10MY vehicle!!!

Has anybody else see this or had the options added to there cars?

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve, never seen these options before. I don't get the 'change view' option in the bottom right of the screen either. I wonder are they software controlled and the option has been disabled on UK models via the hidden diagnostic panel on the navigation screen). Steve

I don't have the option either. This is the UK market handbook... There are separate books for the North American and Australian markets in the same section.

My local useless dealer are proving to be as useful as ever and just putting on blank faces...

I guess one of the stalwarts of this website will have heard of it somewhere along the line and be able to say why it's not an option. Of course the assist lines are on the new 2010 model. I might try to hold my finger on the screen where the 'touch key' should be as if it's hidden, it might still work (a bit like the hidden one on the sat nat menu to get into the diagnostic panel), you never know!! Steve

I have seen the assist lines on yank spec RR's, and my understanding was that it was only available on those - 2010 excepted.

Hi Nick, welcome. The hidden diagnostic menu is on the Sat Nav main menu screen , you hold your finger towards the middle top of the menu for about 5secs if I remember rightly and it puts you into the diagnostic numerical pad menu. Problem is, you have to enter codes now to activate options and these seem to be heavily guarded secrets. There's one that enables video in motion, but you have to put it in everytime you start the car (it's for engineers to diagnose video issues on the move I believe). There's a thread somewhere on this webiste but I can't remember what it's called.
Cheers Steve
