Lots of customers going for the 275/45x20 option, General AT and Cooper LTZ are good choices. |

How does that affect the ride compared to 255/50? How would the LTZs compare to the Contis in terms of on road handling and noise? They're a much chunkier tread pattern |

Well all I can say is that we have fitted both but mainly the General AT and have not had any negative feedback on either, I am sure others will be along soon.

As per earlier in the thread I have run several tyres in the 275/45 x 20 and ride is excellent due to the wider tyre. The rolling radius is nearly identical and due to the wider tread and a slightly smaller sidewall the handing improves. All in all a good choice in my opinion as there are lots more tyres to choose from. |

You will inevitably face a trade off in noise and on-road performance with a more off-road biased tyre - in normal day-to-day use you probably won't notice a huge amount of difference with an AT tyre, but under test conditions you would expect to see worse wet and dry road grip and braking performance (and worse fuel consumption).
